Our origin

"We didn't start a business. We started a search — for the hands that could make a house feel like home."

Our story

Born from a journey through
India's workshops

It started with a road trip through Rajasthan. We sat in workshop after workshop, watching potters, weavers, and carvers produce things of extraordinary beauty — and learned that most of it never reached the people who would have loved it most.

Bisha was our answer. A platform built not just for selling, but for storytelling — where every object you bring home carries the name, craft, and community of the artisan who made it. Five years on, we work with over 200 makers across 12 Indian states.

What drives us

We make things
the right way

Three principles guide every decision we make — from which artisans we partner with, to how we price every piece in our collection.

01

Maker first

Our artisans receive a minimum of 60% of every sale — always. No opaque middlemen, no pressure to cut corners. Craft deserves compensation that matches its rarity.

02

Living heritage

Every craft we stock is a tradition with centuries behind it. By buying Bisha, you fund the continuation of skills that can't be taught from a manual — only from a master.

03

Radical curation

We say no to most of what we see. Our edit is ruthless — only pieces that carry genuine soul, material honesty, and lasting beauty make the cut.

The makers

The hands behind
every piece

Each artisan in our network has been visited, vetted, and chosen for the integrity of their work and their way of working. These are not suppliers — they are partners and storytellers.

How we work

From workshop
to your home

01

We visit

Every maker relationship begins in person. We travel to workshops, study the craft, and assess both quality and the conditions under which people work.

02

We co-create

We work with artisans to develop pieces that honour their technique while fitting beautifully into contemporary homes — no compromise of craft.

03

We document

Each piece is photographed, its origin recorded, and its story written. The Maker Card that ships with every order is a living piece of that documentation.

04

We deliver

Carefully packed using sustainable materials, your piece travels from the maker's hands to your door — with full traceability at every step.

Our promise

More than a
beautiful object

When you choose Bisha, you choose a ripple — back into a maker's livelihood, into a craft community, into a tradition that might otherwise quietly disappear.

100% handmade, always

No machine replication. No factory shortcuts. Each piece is made entirely by hand — which means no two are exactly alike.

Fair pay, guaranteed

We publish our maker pay structure openly. Artisans receive at least 60% of every retail price — above any industry standard.

Certified provenance

Every order ships with a Maker Card — the artisan's name, state, craft, and the story behind the technique used.

Sustainably sourced

All raw materials are locally procured and environmentally sound. We audit every supply chain before onboarding a new artisan partner.
